2016 Science State Olympiad
Austin High School finished sixth in Division C of the 2016 Texas Science Olympiad State Finals held April 22-23 at Texas A&M University at College Station. While this was not our best showing, we are still extremely proud of each and every member and know that everyone put in great effort to reach our current position. In the coming year, we are determined to come back even stronger as our organization grows. A&M University- State Competition 2013
The two day competition on May 3rd and May 4th turned out to be a blast! All the hard work and effort put into the months of preparation, showed of as the team was awarded ninth place of 31 regional winners from across the state. Notably, Antony Samuel and Harsha Kethireddipalli placed first in Write It, Do It, and Rohan Kondetimmanahalli and Eric Qian placed third in Designer Genes. 2013 Gulf Coast Regional Competition
Two separate teams represented Stephen F. Austin High School at the 2013 Gulf Coast Regional Competition where an AHS team was only two points away from second place. However, we did place fourth, which was enough to clinch an appearance at state. There were some notable achievements including the following: Neelesh Mutyala and Emily Haussmann placed 1st in Rocks and Minerals, Nandeeta Patel and Amy Cheng placed 1st in Disease Detectives, Hamza Khatri and Eric Yeung placed 1st in Thermodynamics, Shreyas Ganesh and Brennan Herbert placed 1st in Gravity Vehicle, Antony Samuel and Abi Kumar placed 2nd in Cricuit Lab, and Rohan Kondetimmanahalli and Lawrence Wu placed 2nd in We've Got Your Number.
